The brand collaboration is the perfect fit between two companies that pride themselves on innovation, not following the crowd and creating works and products that are sophisticated and feminine, yet with a distinct edginess.
IXIAH encapsulates effortless yet sophisticated style through a unique blend of spirit and substance in each design, garnering a cult following of trendsetters and global style mavens alike.
Says IXIAH’s founder Krystel Davis-English, “I am thrilled to be a partner with De Lorenzo and embarking on this creative journey and elevating it to new heights through hair and fashion.”
De Lorenzo often assist IXIAH in creating hair designs on their models that capture the look IXIAH is going for, working together on various shoots including Afterpay’s Australian Fashion Week and also IXIAH’s new season collection campaigns. Recently, Becky McEvoy, our NSW educator assisted IXIAH onset with an ‘un done’ natural look briefed in by IXIAH, praising her work saying “she was amazing! It was an absolute success!”
Becky says, “The ‘un done’ look is ever so popular. This is prevalent in salon, on social media and on the catwalk. Whether it be curls, waves or sleek and smooth, people are embracing more natural styles. Clients are taking to working with their hair type and texture rather than fighting against it.”
See Becky’s ‘how-to’ guide below for the details
“For this particular look on semi dry hair, apply Instant Restructurant and Elements Ocean Mist. The Restructurant will prime and condition the hair, while the Ocean Mist which is sea salt based helps to embellish the natural texture. Taking large sections, spritz both products from roots to ends, use a wide tooth comb and work the product through the hair.
Remove the nozzle from the hair dryer and place it on low air and medium heat (if you have a diffuser you can use this too). Comb the hair into the parting you want it to sit, allowing it to fall naturally. If you’re like me and your hair needs assistance in promoting waves, dry the hair in circular motions, scrunching it to enhance the natural texture. For those who have movement and curl in their hair that dries quite wavy, comb the hair in place and dry using the circular motion.
Once dry, I used a flat iron on low heat feeding the hair through it in an “S” shape, tapping the flat on the hair, keeping the ends relatively straight. For finishing touches, use Elements Vapour Mist for hold. This hairspray is workable and pliable in the hair so it doesn’t have a sticky feel, so it’s perfect for this natural look.”
Inspiration for this look was guided by the IXIAH BRAND and designer Krystel Davis-English - relaxed, disheveled. It embodies simplicity and enhancing what we already have.
