De Lorenzo King & Queens Present 2022 Hair Festival Showcase
24th Jun 2022
Over the June long weekend, Sydney welcomed back the hair industry for the reimagined Hair Festival and a long-awaited return to education, innovation and celebration. Having moved to the new venue at The Carriageworks, the marketplace was the first port of call, with the De Lorenzo stand featuring a natural, green feel to complement the new Novacolor branding. It was a stand not to be missed!
Celebrating 35 years of providing the Australian hairdressing industry with Australian made and owned products, De Lorenzo showcased the recently released redesign of the popular Novacolor 360 ° products.
This was strongly supported by a return to the stage by the De Lorenzo education team – the ‘King’ of cutting, Ryan King, joined by the De Lorenzo Queens of creative colour – Lisa Polini, Angela Soong and Holly Breen - for a live showcase of diverse hair fashion, MC’d by De Lorenzo Educator, Jason McRae.
The team transformed 12 models on stage during the session, with each educator presenting something for everyone, as outlined below:
Angela Song – Pixel Colouring
|
|
Angela focused on the pixel colouring technique, whilst also showcasing the creation of a fringe piece that can be styled for clients as a fashion look which they don’t have to wear all the time. The tones in the fringe were softer and more commercials rather than bright colours.
With a view to adding dimension and movement to the hair, Angela delivered:
Rainbow Hair - Utilising pastel Novasemis to create a fun confetti-like appearance
Copper - Personalising a colour for salon clients, using 3 colours to create a multi-dimensional colour.
Lisa Polini
|
|
Lisa presented a trio of looks to showcase how placement of vibrant colour can bring a style cut to life. The contrast of strong haircuts with softer styling were tied together with the use of Novasemi in Lisa’s collection.
Holly Breen
|
|
Soft texture and natural glamour were the inspiration for the models in Holly’s collections. Creating a warmer colour palette for Ruby and Heather to reflect the current trend for blondes of a more natural and bright look.
Novafusion was featured on Alice to showcase how you can introduce fun fashion tones with your blonde clientele easily.
Ryan King
|
The King of cutting took the audience on a journey of 3 cuts live on stage, truly showcasing his skill and technique. Ryan expertly incorporated the darkness of his model Britt, with a dark twist of hard lines and softeners with his other 2 models. There was a theme that fused each models’ look together, creating mystery and dark forest vibes.
The end results were amazing, and an inspiration to all who attended and who were looking to breathe life back into their creativity, skill set and technique.
