Over the June long weekend, Sydney welcomed back the hair industry for another fun filled weekend of Hair Festival, with De Lorenzo taking to the creative education stage with lots on offer.

The De Lorenzo Guest Artist’s - Ryan King, Fraser Forsey and Ben Kane were supported by our very own in-house Guest Artist team - Angela Soong, Holly Breen and Lisa Polini - for a live showcase of diverse hair fashion, MC’d by De Lorenzo Education Manager Megan Yabsley.

We spoke to Angela, Holly and Lisa to get the inside scoop of the team’s collective transformation of 16 models on stage during the two sessions, with each educator presenting something for everyone:

Angela Song – Creative Colour Elevation

Angela is a creative colourist she likes to work with precision and free flowing colours to create multi-dimension colours so that these colours are personalised for each individual client. Over the two days at Hair Festival, she showcased four looks – creative looks using pastel tones and commercial looks using copper tones. Each style used multiple colours.

Holly Breen - Blonde Specialist

Holly presented a mixture of blonde work over the weekend. Showcasing a number of different on trend techniques to create sunkissed textured looks to bright popping blonde. Holly also showed a “less is more” technique to add lightness to clients who want to maintain a “bronde” look.

Working with a combination of the NOVA360 range including the new NOVATONE range to compliment Holly’s signature effortless glam approach to blonde.

Lisa Polini - Creative Cutting

Lisa presented some commercially friendly and salon relevant looks to showcase how placement of colour can bring a shag haircut and precision bob to life. The contrast of a texture haircut with scrunch styling and the effortless bob with feathering layers were tied together with the use of Novacolor 360° in Lisa’s collection.

Lisa also worked as the stylist backstage, connecting all 16 models looks, to create a collection that was a crowd favourite over the Hair Festival Weekend.
