A Guide to Air-Drying Your Hair
26th Apr 2020
Going through a styling process is the last thing you feel like doing when you’re pressed for time, but there’s a lot of us who don’t feel confident leaving the house without ‘doing’ our hair. Believe it or not there’s a lot more to air drying hair than just letting your hair dry in the air. There are steps you can take to make your air dried hair look like you’ve just stepped out of the salon, and it’s not as hard as you might think. We’ve got you covered with a step by step guide.
Step 1: Start by washing your hair with our Instant Allevi8 Shampoo & Conditioner, the natural solution for frazzled, porous hair. Infused with a luxurious blend of 8 Certified Organic ingredients to ensure shiny, silky, and smooth frizz-free hair. Your next step is to towel dry your hair and though it may sound obvious, take a couple of minutes to do it properly. Aim to get most of the water out which will help get a better result. A secret trick is to blot and squeeze wet hair with your towel, working from the roots to the ends without rubbing the towel into hair – this damages hair and causes frizziness at the cuticles.
Step 2: Spray a generous amount of our Infinite Detangler from our Essential Treatments Range to nourish, hydrate and condition your hair. Comb through to ensure any knots and tangles are removed.
Step 3: With air drying, the correct product choice is vital to stop your hair from going fluffy. Most hair has a natural wave to it, so we suggest combing through our Sea Swell from the Elements Water range to provide natural style, control and help fight against humidity. Sea Swell is perfect for all hair types, adding fullness and great shine with airless weight and is one of our best secrets to air drying hair. If your hair is fine or straight, we suggest only applying styling products to your mid-lengths and ends to avoid oil build up, while still keeping your locks looking nourished and healthy.
Step 4: As tempting as it may be, after parting your hair where you like, the next step is to leave your hair completely alone. Let the styling products and your natural movement work their own magic. The more you play around with your hair after applying products, the more you’ll ruin any natural style. Once it’s fully dry you can spray a little bit of Ocean Mist for extra movement and definition.
Voila! There you have it. Wash-and-go hair made easy. Give your hair and blow dryers a much needed break. We’re guessing they’ll enjoy their little reprieve in the bathroom cupboard just as much as you’ll dig your air-dried texture.
